Why Men Cheat
Why Men Cheat – Reasons For Being A Prick
Why men cheat is a very popular question. After all, adultery has been one of the worst marriage problems since history began. Books and media are teeming with stories about them. Although both sexes are capable of the act, men are more prone to it than do women. The bible even addresses the issue. “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife,” it commands. Note that it does not say “neighbor’s husband.” Perhaps God deemed men more susceptible. All men, at one point or another, know that what they are doing is wrong. So why do they still cheat?
Technically, those who give in to the urge are morons. Either they have various reasons for being unfaithful or none at all! It all depends on the cheater’s personality and character and with his relationship with his mate. The choices are endless! To answer the nagging question of why men cheat, however, here are a few examples:
- The lady’s lack of enthusiasm. Women aren’t that into sex as men are. Some wives even use it as some kind of weapon: Please her and she would consent. Upset her and she won’t. Remember that men need to satisfy their sex drives. If their mates refuse them, they will tend to find release elsewhere.
- It feels manly. A man has a bigger ego than a woman. Somehow, that ego has a connection with his sexual appetite. Having a monogamous relationship, especially a boring one, can make the husband question his self-esteem, particularly his sex appeal to others. Thus, men cheat to prove that they can still “play the game.”
- Just for fun. Some men consider women as “conquests.” These men simply cheat for the thrill of the game. For them, cheating is both challenging and exciting. Having the woman is usually the prize. These men also love variety and would explore and break new boundaries, much like tasting different flavors of pies, after settling for one flavor for years.
- To get revenge. Some men only cheat as a way of getting back on an unfaithful partner. They believe that cheating on a cheater will make them even and also as a way of relieving their anger and frustrations. Sometimes, they do this because of a failed romance and this is his way of settling the score.
- Out of love. The husband may have fallen out of love with his wife after years of being together. For him, the years dragged too slowly and too painfully without satisfaction. The wife may not be as beautiful and appealing as she was way back. Thus, men will have the urge to cheat to satisfy their need of love and gratification.
Cheating is not a light issue. Why men cheat will not be just a problem today but also for tomorrow. The man might be unhappy with his present situation and relationship but being unfaithful won’t make these problems disappear. It will only make things worse than before. Adultery can only ease the wound’s pain; it won’t heal it.
